The Fire Fighters Charity launches new health and well-being podcast
The Fire Fighters Charity’s first venture in the world of podcasting, Shout!Podcast explores the health and well-being of the UK’s fire services community, offering a unique insight into the physical, mental, and social challenges facing those who live and work around the fire service.
From top tips on sleeping well, to advice on dealing with trauma, nutrition, exercise, and injury prevention Shout!Podcast aims to help its listeners to live healthier and happier. It also offers listeners the chance to share their stories and ask the questions that they’ve always wanted to know the answer to.
Tim Beynon, head of marketing and engagement at The Fire Fighters Charity, said: ‘We’re delighted to be able to give our beneficiaries and supporters an entirely new way to discover and benefit from health and well-being information that is directly relevant to them. Each episode will explore the issues affecting the fire community today.’
Tim added that: ‘We’ll talk to fire service personnel, clinical experts, beneficiaries, supporters, and fundraisers to give our listeners a real insight into The Fire Fighters Charity and how we can help them. We also want our listeners to be a part of the show, to share their stories and to tell us what they want us to cover. Please listen, subscribe, review and let us know what you think.’
The first episode of the new podcast includes an interview with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service’s control room commander, Cailli Anderson, on the mental health challenges of working during lockdown. It also discusses how The Fire Fighters Charity is helping people through the pandemic, asks why it’s so important to keep talking and reveals how listeners can get involved in a fundraising challenge with a difference.
